The international affairs mission of Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU) originated within the Division of Personnel Development and International Relations, where the focus was on broadening the global outlook of university staff through overseas collaboration activities and study visits to international institutions. Insights gained from these experiences were applied to enhance teaching, learning, and administrative practices at the university.
As competition in higher education became increasingly global, the university saw the need to take a more proactive approach to internationalization. The Office of International Affairs was therefore established to deepen cooperation with overseas universities and organizations, and to develop the global competencies of both students and staff. The office was formally approved by the University Council on 26 December 2009, with its administrative and advisory committees appointed in 2010.
